Yew - Standard Pen Blank
A wood blank for pen turning cut from English Yew (Taxus baccata).
Yew is a very pretty timber - a golden-orange colour with dark brown streaks and a wavy grain pattern.
Yew is not the easiest timber to turn as it can split, and the irregular grain can cause tear-out, but persevere as the finished product is one of the best native timbers.
PRODUCT INFO
The price qouted is for a single pen blank.
Each blank is approximately 19 x 19 x 145mm (0.75 x 0.75 x 5.75").
The ends of the blanks are dipped in grain seal to reduce the chance of damage while in storage.
