Wengé - Standard Pen Blank
A wood blank for pen turning cut from Wengé (Millettia laurentii), from Central Africa.
Wengé is a chocolate brown coloured wood with alternating dark and light brown bands. It is straight-grained with a coarse texture, similar to Panga Panga, but with a courser, more open grain.
Wengé is a fairly heavy, dense wood with a moderate blunting effect on tools. Sharp tools and a shallow cutting angle are required to prevent tear-out.

The price qouted is for a single pen blank.
Each blank is approximately 19 x 19 x 145mm (0.75 x 0.75 x 5.75").
