Red Birch - Standard Pen Blank
Red Birch (Betula occidentalis - also known as Water Birch) comes from western North America, where it is used for flooring and furniture making. The timber is a mid biscuit-brown colour with a slight hint of red. The wood is close grained, turns easily and can be polished to a high sheen.

Each blank is approximately 19 x 19 x 145mm (0.75 x 0.75 x 5.75").
The ends of the blanks are dipped in grain seal to reduce the chance of damage while in storage.
