Lime - Standard Pen Blank
A wood blank for pen turning cut from Lime (Tilia vulgaris), also known as Linden, from Europe.
Lime is a pale cream, almost white wood when freshly cut, but will slowly turn a pale brown with age. It has very little figure, the grain is straight and the timber has a fine texture.
Lime is most commonly used for carving as its lack of figure or grain allows tools to run true. It can be turned or used in joinery, but woolly edges are likely unless the tools are kept sharp.

Each blank is approximately 19 x 19 x 145mm (0.75 x 0.75 x 5.75").
