Elm - Resin Stabilised - Standard Pen Blank
English Elm (Ulmus procera) is a dull reddish-brown to biscuit coloured wood with an attractive grain.
Elm is quite light weight, with a coarse texture, but can be finished to a high lustre. Sharp tools are needed to prevent wooly edges.
This blank has been vacuum stabilised with a polymer resin to increase its hardness, strength and resilience.

Each blank is approximately 19 x 19 x 145mm (0.75 x 0.75 x 5.75").
The ends of the blanks are dipped in grain seal to reduce the chance of damage while in storage.
