Elm - Dip-Pen Blank
English Elm (Ulmus procera) is a buiscuit to resddish-brown coloured timber. It is relatively low density an dcoarse textured. the dark banding gives the wood an attractive figure. Sharp tools are needed to avoid 'wooly' cuts, but the wood sands easily and can be polished to a very high sheen.

Each blank is approximately 19 x 19 x 200mm (0.75 x 0.75 x 8"), ideally suited to dip ink pens.
The ends of the blanks are dipped in grain seal to reduce the chance of damage while in storage.
