Bubinga - Dip-Pen Blank
Bubinga (Guibortia demeusei) from Central and West Africa is a member of the Rosewood family. The wood is a medium red-brown colour with darker red veining and has a coarse texture. The wood can contain silica which can quickly blunt tools, but can be turned well, and can be finished to a high shine.
